More than 35 startups – including five Danish startups – have been selected to pitch at the Tech Tour – Water Tech event, which will once again be held in central Aarhus, this time at NIRAS on May 21-22, 2024. This time at NIRAS on May 21-22, 2024. The investor event is focused on water technology solutions and aims to create growth and raise investments for the 35 startups.

The interest in participating has been even greater this year, with 98 companies from 19 countries applying to pitch in front of a panel of investors and other players in the water industry – 35 startups made it through the eye of the needle. All the startups work with water solutions and in their own way can contribute to solving the world’s water problems.

This year, Tech Tour – Water Tech will be held at NIRAS in Ceres-byen, Aarhus, where participants will have the opportunity to network, pitch and create investment opportunities for themselves with the help of experts, investors and other water companies.

Five Danish companies selected

The 35 selected startups also include five Danish startups, Flow Loop, PHLIT, Wavepiston, EWA Sensors and NORDPHOS. All have a solution involving water that can solve some of the world’s challenges. Flow Loop has created a solution that recirculates shower water by up to 80% while saving 70% energy. Troels Grene, CEO of Flow Loop says about the Tech Tour opportunity:

We are super thrilled and proud to be selected for Tech Tour. It’s a great environment where we can meet both investors and experts who can help us move forward – especially in the water industry, which is the new black – Troels Grene, CEO of Flow Loop ApS

Tech Tour will be holding events in Norway, Belgium and Denmark in Aarhus this spring. In a report by Dealroom.co and Silicon Valley Bank, you can read that in 2022, Nordic startups raised the second highest annual venture capital funding ever, despite the economic downturn. This says something about how interesting the Nordic startup ecosystem is – not least for investors.

International recognition of Danish water technology in the heart of Aarhus

Clean – Denmark’s Water and Environment Cluster, together with Tech Tour, has once again succeeded in organizing a significant event with an international outlook. Clean works to make Danish companies in the water and environmental industry world-leading, and therefore has a broad contact to the Danish startup environment in and around Aarhus. Michael Johansen, Head of Development at Clean says:

We are proud that we managed to get so many international investors and startups within water to gather again this year in Aarhus in May. It shows international recognition of Danish water technology, and with NIRAS as a venue, Danish water startups get the home court advantage, so to speak, which can make a difference, also in the longer term. – Michael Johansen, Head of Development at Clean

The event is organized in collaboration with Aarhus Municipality, Kromann Reumert, NIRAS, Trade Council Denmark, Water Valley Denmark, Erhvervshus Midtjylland, Erhvervshus Nordjylland and Clean as well as other partners such as International Cleantech Network, The Link and Water Alliance, Danfoss, DHI and The Water Council.
