C40 City Solutions Platform

Leading cities around the world were searching for innovative solutions to the major climate challenges they faced, from adapting to the effects of climate change to providing their citizens with low-carbon energy, waste, water, and mobility options.

By providing a program for cities and solution providers to work together on specific climate challenges at an earlier stage than usual, the City Solutions Platform (CSP) ensured that stakeholders reached a shared understanding of the challenges so they could create tangible solutions together. CSP worked with cities to engage them in peer-to-peer activities with the private sector, academia, and civil society. This enabled solution providers to co-create innovative methods, technologies, and new business approaches to solve cities’ priority climate challenges.

Through the City Solutions Platform, Clean worked closely with the C40 Cities Network to deliver innovation in cities around the world where innovative solutions could be co-created to solve urban challenges. So far, the C40 network included the cities of Addis Ababa, Athens, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Melbourne, Milan, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Seattle, Sydney, and Tel Aviv.
