The International Conference on Smart Energy Systems will take place on 6 – 7 October 2020. The conference has existed for 6 years and brings between 300-400 experts and companies together. The venue for this year’s conference will be at Nordkraft, the city’s former power station now converted into a large venue for conferences, sports and music. Read more about the conference HERE
NEW this year due to Covid-19
This year you have two options:
- Join the physical conference as usual
- Join the conference virtually
We offer you the options to access the conference either physically or virtually. This means that participants (both presenters and attendees) can choose either to be physically present at the conference venue in Aalborg on 6-7 October or to attend the conference sessions online from a distance. The plenary opening and closing sessions will be broadcasted live on 6 and 7 October. The various topic sessions will be recorded in advance and will be available online to registered attendees. Meet the keynote speakers:
Mogens Lykketoft: was President of the United Nations General Assembly in 2015-2016, when the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Climate Agreement were adopted. He has devoted most of his time – during over 350 meetings in Denmark and abroad and in lots of articles and TV presentations – to inform about the Global Goals and agitate for the urgency of Climate Action.
Catharina Sikow joined the European Commission in 1997 and is currently the Acting Director responsible for Internal Energy Market and the Head of Unit in charge of retail markets, coal and oil in the Directorate General for Energy.
Lauren Edelman is an Energy Specialist at Facebook. Lauren Edelman’s responsibilities include identifying and implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions for Facebook’s data centers. She has been a key contributor to Facebook’s innovation in the energy space.
Michael Lundgaard Thomsen, is Managing Director in Aalborg Portland A/S, which is the only cement producer in Denmark.
