Poseidon

The aim of Poseidon is to develop and test practical climate adaptation solutions across the Danish-German border.

The Interreg Deutschland-Danmark project Poseidon will contribute to the protection of citizens, infrastructure and buildings against water-related climate change and the resulting risk of flooding, drought and rising water levels.

The aim is to develop and test climate adaptation solutions and knowledge sharing in a water network across the Danish-German border. Solutions will be developed partly in practical innovation collaborations and partly by testing at pilot sites.

The project builds on the experiences from the previous Interreg project NEPTUN (2020-2023). Based on a mapping of innovation needs in the program region, solutions will be developed and tested that relate to the region’s climate adaptation plans and strategies.

Poseidon focuses on creating an attractive and verified supply of well-functioning and nature-based/technical climate adaptation solutions that can inspire decision-makers to accelerate the implementation of climate adaptation initiatives.

The strength of the project is that it focuses on the cross-border challenges in the region and develops solutions together.
