Joint trade promotion Canada – CO2vision + DI
This trade promotion initiative strengthens Danish-Canadian collaboration in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) and hydrogen, two critical areas for achieving Denmark’s goal of sequestering 900,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually by 2030. Building on previous export promotions and study trips in 2023 and 2024, the delegation will focus on expanding business opportunities, knowledge exchange, and partnerships in Alberta, Canada — one of the world’s leading hubs for CCUS innovation and hydrogen production.
Organized by Clean, GreenHub Denmark, and Dansk Industri (DI) in collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark in Canada, the delegation will take place from June 2 to June 6, 2025, with visits to Edmonton and Calgary. The program includes meetings with Invest Alberta, Canadian Trade Commissioners, leading CCUS and hydrogen innovators, and site visits to key projects such as Alberta Innovates’ test sites and Deep Sky’s Direct Air Capture Hub.
This initiative directly supports the upcoming CCUS MoU between Denmark and Alberta, strengthening Denmark’s access to the North American clean tech market. Danish companies will benefit from B2B matchmaking, investment insights, and firsthand exposure to large-scale CCUS and hydrogen projects, fostering new collaborations and market expansion opportunities. The delegation aims for strong SME participation to ensure a broad representation of Danish innovation.
By leveraging Denmark’s Climate Frontpost in Ottawa, this initiative aligns with Denmark’s green diplomacy effortsand contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 7, 9, 12, and 13) by promoting clean energy, sustainable industry, and climate action. The expected outcomes include new business partnerships, enhanced collaboration between Danish and Canadian stakeholders, and increased visibility of Danish CCUS and hydrogen solutions in the North American market.
