Danish companies open doors in China
Together with Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK), Clean brought three Danish SMEs on a fully packed week in Shanghai.
The aim was to introduce the companies to the Chinese market and help them get started with contacts, knowledge, and guidance.
Four Days – From Insight to Concrete Connections
The participating companies – Lapee, Sabbia, and TEGnology – presented their solutions and met investors, decision-makers, and potential partners at S-Tron Shanghai.
Here, they pitched their solutions, joined panel debates, and became part of an international startup environment characterized by high energy and curiosity.
The program also included 1:1 meetings at Green Technology Bank, company visits in Hundsun Park, and an IP workshop hosted by Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration and Hui Ye Law Firm.
Reflections and Learnings from Shanghai
Gina Perier, CEO & Founder, Lapee:
“It was a great experience to be part of an international entrepreneurial environment in China.
We had the opportunity to present our solution to both investors and potential partners and to see how our product is received in a completely new market.
It gave us a lot of inspiration and new ideas.”
Hao Yin, CEO & Founder, TEGnology:
“It has been a fantastic opportunity to meet local partners, investors, and potential customers.
We have made connections that would normally take us months to build.
It has saved us both time and resources – and given us a much better understanding of the market.”
Lukas Moravek, CEO & Co-founder, Sabbia:
“I’m most looking forward to building on the new relationships we’ve created here.
It’s been exciting to learn more about how things work in China, and how we can use that knowledge to further develop our business.
The trip has opened new opportunities that we’re eager to explore.”
For the Danish companies, the trip offered both new partnerships and valuable insights into how to navigate the Chinese market in practice.
From program to practice
The trip was organized by Innovation Centre Denmark Shanghai, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of Clean’s work with International Innovation Pilots, where Danish SME’s have the opportunity to test their solutions and build partnerships in new international markets.
“Our main goal was to give our members a hands-on introduction to the Chinese market – not just through presentations, but through direct meetings with companies, investors, and decision-makers.
This kind of experience provides insights they can actively use in their further development,”
says Joan Juul, Project Manager at Clean, who participated in the trip.
“Clean’s role is to open doors and create the connections that make it possible for our members to take their next international step,” she adds.
