Are you a small or medium-sized company with an innovative circular solution? Would you like to pilot your idea in a real-life festival setting?
As part of the Interreg-funded STRIVE project, we’re launching a call for innovation to find solutions for some of the most pressing sustainability challenges at festivals in the South Baltic Region. This is your opportunity to test your solution at one or several festivals in 2026: Folkemødet (DK), Malmöfestivalen (SE), Hanse Sail (DE), Baltic Sail (PL) or the Freedom & Solidarity Festival (PL).
Festivals are important hubs of culture, community, and tourism — but they also generate significant waste, pollution, and resource consumption. Through STRIVE, festivals are coming together to turn these challenges into opportunities by using their events as test beds for circular innovation.
We’re seeking solutions to the following challenges:
- How might we build a system for reusable beverage packaging?
- How might we reduce the waste from food packaging?
- How might we improve sanitary solutions at festivals to reduce the consumption of water and chemicals?
- How might we reduce the waste from festival promotional materials?
- How might we reduce biological waste from food trucks and booths?
- How might we change the behavior of festival guests to increase the separation of waste during the festivals?
- How might we reuse abandoned materials?
Have a solution that does not fit these categories? You are still welcome to apply — we’d love to hear from you!
