INNO-MISSION BIOCHAR SEMINAR 2026

Date
24. JUN 2026

Location

Copenhagen University, Frederiksberg
Thorvaldsensvej 40, Frederiksberg

Join the INNO-MISSION BIOCHAR SEMINAR 2026, marking the finalisation of three projects – SIMPLY, BioStore, and Mitichar – focused on mitigating climate change through biomass pyrolysis and long-term carbon storage in biochar.

The seminar brings together researchers, industry representatives, and public stakeholders for an afternoon of knowledge sharing across the biochar value chain. The programme covers topics ranging from pyrolysis technologies and product characteristics to soil impacts, climate effects, and regulatory frameworks.

Participants will gain insights into:

  • Pyrolysis technologies and their impact on product quality and emissions
  • The effects of biochar in soil, including crop yield, water dynamics, and greenhouse gas emissions
  • Climate and environmental impacts of different pyrolysis systems
  • Economic, regulatory, and planning aspects related to biochar production and use

Speakers include experts from leading universities and organisations such as the University of Copenhagen, DTU, RUC, GEUS, AAU, as well as industry actors including Stiesdal and Agrovi.

The seminar concludes with networking and informal discussions.

*Participation is by invitation only.
